Redcliffe KiteFest is a well-established annual event enjoyed by families from across the region. The organisers wanted to refresh the festival’s visual identity while preserving the energy, recognition and community spirit developed over many years.
The creative direction needed to capture what makes Redcliffe KiteFest memorable: colourful kites, outdoor entertainment and a lively family atmosphere. Retaining this sense of fun was essential while giving the event branding a more contemporary and cohesive appearance.
I worked closely with the event organisers to understand their vision, audience and practical marketing requirements. This collaborative process helped establish a creative direction that respected the festival’s history while introducing fresh visual ideas.
The refreshed identity used energetic colour, playful typography and engaging imagery inspired by movement, adventure and kite flying. Each element was chosen to appeal to families and communicate the excitement of the event.
The visual direction was developed to work across print and digital event marketing. A consistent design system helped connect the festival’s promotional materials and create a recognisable experience before and during the event.
The completed brand refresh gave Redcliffe KiteFest a vibrant and flexible identity that celebrates its established character. The updated design provides a strong foundation for promoting the festival while keeping its family-friendly spirit at the centre.
